Well Mrvan and all other AKA's .Just to bring you up to date. We did sell off our 06 3400 and got a pretty good price for it although had many problems over the 7 years we had it. 7 years and over 70K miles . We used it pretty hard and I would not say as a recreational vehicle.
This will get you going.. We purchased a 2013 3402 Montana Big Sky. Improved suspension, six point leveling system. I am not thrilled with the Full Body paint but it is pretty. It is much improved over the 06 3400 but still in 15 months we have had the usual build quality problems. We have two holding tanks leaking now.
We thought hard about purchasing another Montana and if we thought there was a better comparable brand we would have purchased it. A higher priced and perhaps higher quality brand was out of our ability to pay. Besides we see the same problems with the higher priced brands. Friend with a 2012 Mobil Suites down the street has...guess what..a leaking holding tank.
We figure we have maybe 3 or 4 years of travel left in us and we purchase the extended warranty. Expect problems and hope they are not to bad and deal with them as they occur.
The RV industry build quality sucks regardless of price but by George we are going to enjoy ourselves, pick up what falls off and continue on... Extended warranties are great.. Our 06 cost us I think 200.00 in deductibles . Lucky we had the forsight to purchase the warranty.....Got the G.S warranty for this 13....We will be using it.
Then 06 3400 was a big pan in the butt at times but it was our magic carpet to many great adventures and we seem to remember the adventures and not the PIA's
The reason the current RV manufacturers still exist today is buyers like you come back for seconds and thirds of poor quality RV's. Therefore you have no leg to stand on when it comes to complaints about quality. What is accepted is what is permitted.
