Ok I now have a truck, 2014 Dodge 3500 4 door diesel 6.5 box, and we are looking at used fifth wheels. I have limited search time because I'm using my phone data. So far I thinking about going with the Dodge factory frame mount kit and the Pullrite 4439 frame and either 2700 or 2900 hitch. Some tell me I wont need a slider but others say its best to have it. I would appreciate any suggestions or ideas on this or a better set up. Money is an issue but I dont want to do it so cheaply that I waste money and have to buy again. I'm looking at a Nuwa 30 foot and should end up at about 12,500 gross
Is air ride needed?
Is an air ride or rubber pin box needed?
Thank You
ALL FWs will hit the cab when backing up; the FW corners and slider just mean you'll hit later, rather than sooner. SOME will hit when going forward; again, it depends on TV, FW and hitch. My '02 D'max SWB 4x4 CC will NOT hit going forward, either direction. Many people who have sliders end up never using them. Personally, I'd suggest a B&W Companion hitch. They now make sliders and, IIRC, they will fit the factory FW hitch prep. Check out
