Somewhat the same issue, I may go with just two inches with spacer blocks, certainly would not go any higher
Other solution is cutting off the hangers, welding new hangers to a heavy wall tube, whatever you need to raise the fifth wheel , and weld the tube to the frame, then going with the braces ,such as the MorRyde X-Factor. This seems the better way.
