Eclipse has come a long way IMO. We looked at them at the same time we looked at our WW back in 2005 and 2006.
They weren't as pretty back then and they were heavier than the WW SL's. They were more complete the way they sold them.
I also like that the fuel station was on the drivers side and the grey and black tank set up.
Now with all the upgrades and options Eclipse has, if I were in the market for a another one I would seriously look at the Eclipse. They are also close to to where we live.
I would also seriously look at the solid sided models for insulation. Way better than the aluminum on cold nights. Just my opinion.
Dumb question for you on this, which ones are the solid side models?
All of their 5ers are solid sideded but some of the bumper pulls can be built either way. Solid sided uses smooth fibergrlass whereas aluminum looks like that cheap shed in your backyard.
Yes if you look at the Octain below you well notice the exterior side has what I will call ripples in it. That is aluminum siding (AKA CHEAP SHED IN YOUR BACK YARD, LOL)and it is installed in approx 2' wide widths overlapped by a couple inches each. Which means you have maybe between 4 to 6 overlapping joints and you don't get all the insulation value you get from a fiber glass solid sided trailer. The aluminum is also metal which means it heats up and cools off more the figer glass. A conductor of heat and cold if you will. So more heat and cold can enter and escape the trailer.
Case in point, when we camp with friends that have solid sided trailers in the winter our heater will click on and off several times a night while the solid ones will not or just less. At least that's what our friends say anyway.
And yes we have one of those "CHEAP SHED IN YOUR BACK YARD" type hauler, LOL. They are cheaper to purchase though most of the time.
