if you have a awning, park your unit with the awning west or north. as that will protect one side from the most intense heat during the summer. of course you will need to strap and peg it down so it won't rip off during a wind storm. better yet leave it rolled up and build a temporary porch that overhangs 4-6 feet on all sides, and leave a foot or two air space above your r.v. anything that keeps the sun off your r.v. will help. camouflage netting, aluminum foil whatever.. the foil bubble pack in the windows also help. and be sure to turn off the a/c during a dust storm. as the dust will turn to rock when it drys in the a/c condenser. hose the a/c condenser clean of dust after each storm, also the cooling coils of your refrigerator. also you should install screw hold downs at all corners of your r.v. and metal straps over the frame to keep your r.v. from moving during a storm..
