Even the pope is bored with tire threads. - fj12ryderExplorer III"HAHAHAHHA. Really????? I've owned them for about 14 years."
Hey, the guy was talking about G-rated ST tires. The XPS ribs are neither. Really!!
Their website says about the XPS Rib: "All-steel, all-wheel-position highway rib light truck tire..." - otrfunExplorer II

XPS Ribs are awesome tires and may be Q speed rated. But, the 235/85/16 XPS Ribs are only E-load rated at 3042 lbs. Can't handle the max. load on a typical 8-bolt, 7k axle. Wish they made an F or G rated version with a Q speed rating!
XPS Ribs have a Q speed rating. Good for up to 100mph. - lincsterExplorer

XPS Ribs are not G-rated though, and are not ST tires.

Actually, the website says the speed rating is "M" for the all-steel version we're using. The non-steel is rated "N". If I had to guess, they probably got the ratings reversed.otrfun wrote:
Hmmmm... I took a look and the sidewall certainly says 14PR 129/125 N. Bonus! I got the speed rating from their website, I never saw the tires with the label on it...
Have you had a chance to verify the actual speed-rating noted on your Hartland tire's sidewall?
FWIW, I believe this 235/85/16, all-steel, G-rated, N-speed rated, Hartland tire has one the highest, if not the highest, speed rating of all the trailer tires in this size. Not sure if this means this particular tire is any more reliable in the realworld, but it certainly looks good on paper :) - RUFFSTUFFExplorer

I believe Discount Tire misquoted their tire specs, at least on the "all-steel". Not sure what the actual speed rating is for the non-steel Hartland, but my all-steel Hartland 235/85/16 tires, as noted on the sidewalls themselves, are "N" (87 MPH) vs. M (81 MPH) at the DT website. When I replied to your post I quoted the M speed-rating from your post without giving it a closer look (since corrected). Have you had a chance to verify the actual speed-rating noted on your Hartland tire's sidewall?otrfun wrote:
Interestingly, those are N speed rated (87mph).
Hartland also makes this tire in a version with non-steel sidewalls.
Here's a pic of one of the tire stickers just before I had them mounted: - RUFFSTUFFExplorer

Was able to get four of these Hartlands, mounted/balanced including tax for about $675 out the door.
That's a great price! Their retail price alone for 4 tires is $740. I got the certificates just in case something bad happens...
