Does he drive it in the snow? Then get a 4by if it is going to sit all winter then a 2by is going to be fine. My last truck was a 4by and never used it. We now have a 2by and other than loks it has done fine. BTW it is also a dually. Depending on how big of a fiver you want, consider a dually
