Evaluate your situation and decide. I've needed my 4X4 twice in the last month to get my TT out of someplace. We've had a way more rain than normal and the ground is extremely soft. Also, had a lot more snow this past winter. We canoe and hike as well as camp. The 4x4 has been needed several times to get to put ins or take outs. Like others have said, evaluate where you will be going, normal weather conditions, etc..
