I have a 4x4 primarily because that is about all you can find on a new truck lot in this area. Have towed the 5er for 7 years and have never needed or used the 4x4 while towing. We do stay in RV parks with at least gravel or hard pack sites.
Only time I have ever used the 4x4 is where we deer hunt as it sometimes requires driving thru a muddy pasture, and on some small acreage we own for the same reason. Even when we have the occasional snow and ice I rarely use the 4x4.
