I live in AZ but even so, have still had occasions that the 4WD was needed. So I won't buy a 2WD truck, ever. Also, as some mentioned, the resale is much greater for the 4WD, plus you have a much larger market, therefore the 4WD brings a lot more money and usually sells much quicker and easier.
I also don't much care for the higher height, particularly when accessing the bed, but that is a price I will pay because for me, the pros of 4WD greatly outweigh the cons.
