I'd vote for 4x4. Here in the Northeast it is almost impossible to find a 4x2 truck unless you order it from the factory. I've been in a few situations where I had to switch to 4x4 while pulling our TT.
Last year we camped at the Taste of Country Music Festival at Hunter Mountain NY. Our campsite was half-way up the ski slopes. If anyone has ever pulled their trailer up a ski slope, you know the only way to get up a ski slope is with a 4x4.
