It is a rare event that I don't take my 5er off road. Having a 4x4 gives you the ability to camp without being stuck in a campground with everyone else. We like to get away from the crowds, not pay to be in the middle of a crowded campground. I have also been caught more than once pulling in a snow storm while driving over the mountain passes. It can happen any time of the year.
