I have had many trucks but my current truck is the first with 4WD, and I can’t imagine not having 4WD now. The weight distribution is biased to the front on a truck and I’ve been stuck several times unloaded on level ground wet grass, and taking off easy with good highway tires. I have used the 4WD many times now anticipating a potential for slippage and not have a problem, rather than staying in 2WD slip then go into 4WD, got me out of places where there could have been a problem.
Bottom line, I’d go 4WD.
