I like having the 4x4. I have had to use it when pulling out of a campsite that had a grade that was wet grass and when I was in 2WD, I started to spin. Stopped, put it in 4WD and drove right up onto the gravel road.
I may not need it often, but when I do its good to have. We do get snow here in Maryland too.
