I appreciate all of the feedback which is making me do more research and factoring more options.
My current TV is a 2006 Ram 1500 MegaCab Laramie (built on a 2500 chassis but with a 1500 rating), 5.7 Hemi and 3.73 ratio. It has done its job but is right at the max.
For those who missed my response on the question of Payload
" Maximum Payload Weight Ratings.
F250 SWR 4x4 158.0" WB SuperCab
Max GVWR 9,900lbs (standard), Payload 3,250lbs
Max GVWR 10,000lbs (optional),Payload 3,350lbs
F350 SWR 4x4 158.0"WB SuperCab
Max GVWR 9,900lbs (standard), Payload 3,240lbs
Max GVWR 10,000lbs (optional),Payload 3,310lbs
Now in all fairness the F350 has much wider optional choices
GVWR 10,700lbs to 11,000lbs - Payload 4,010lbs to 4,240lbs
GVWR 11,200lbs to 11,500lbs - Payload 3,700lbs to 4,000lbs
But comparing apples to apples @ 9,900lbs GVWR
F250 3,250lbs vs. F350 3,240lbs."
