We have a 2 month old 5th wheel. It has 2 AC's but in this South (and I do mean FAR South...literally will be in Pharr in a couple weeks currently in Houston)....these two just aren't cutting it. Am considering a 3rd AC be added. Considering ducted. However, can the existing ducts from what would be the middle AC to the rear living room be closed off some way, and the new 3rd AC be tied into those ducts (AC would be basically over the couch in rear of RV)?

If the RV is not designed and set up for the 3rd AC including ducts and electrical then it could be a big job. Is the RV 50A? Bigger ACs, window AC, mini split?

I have the same issue with 2 AC's not doing the job. I use a free standing fan in the living room and am thinking about trying one of the free standing AC units that I see advertised for around $450.

Electrical supply would be your achilles heal. You would need to run another 20A supply form the 110V distribution panel to the AC.

You say new rv. Are you new to rving? There are some things you can do that can help. Are you in full sun? Even partial shade will make a difference, See if you can move to a shaded site. Insulate your roof vents and skylights. Use of pillows for the 14 x 14 vent openings as well as the 14x22 in most showers help vent pillowsSituate your rv so the west side exposure is the passenger side so your awning will shade the side toward the sun in the afternoon. These are quick items that may help, otherwise, do what rv'ers do. Go north and up in the summer months, go back to Texas in the winter.
