Carl, our 30C is 40'. We too like to go to small out of the way places. For that reason we chose the shortest truck possible for our needs and the shortest RV too. Yes, not all 40' trailers are the same. Our 30C and it's 300C cousin from Cyclone both have the titanium front end cap that Heartland bought the patent for from Glendale. So, I have quite a bit of trailer over my truck. Some even over my cab like a truck camper. I'd say I only have about 32 feet behind the truck and with the truck being a short bed supercab, I have a tow package that has never kept me out of any campsite. Ford is the only brand that you can get a short bed, extended cab, one ton truck. The titanium cap also makes it tow very easily. The floor plan, like any other, may not be for you but it is perfect for us.
