Similar issue here. On July 28th while I was out of town traveling on business the sever thunderstorm rolled through our country home and nearly destroyed every tree on the place and put three large holes in the roof of the house. If you know anything about Elm trees they are one of the weakest trees around but they are plentiful in the Midwest. I have around 80-100 of these on my property so we had quite a mess to clean up. Additionally my water well decided to go down so I am without water at the house. I just hauled the 5ver to the lake and that's where we are staying until I get the well figured out. Thankfully we have the 5ver and the lake fee is $13 a day.

Our fiver was our home as well. Parked next to the house, it was the most important item to evacuate during a wildfire. While other victims had almost nothing, we were blessed with our own clothes, bed and 'home' during the 7 month rebuild and half of that time we were parked back on the property. Again, we were blessed, but once was enough.

That is for the electric,,,,,,,it is plugged in 30A receptacle 24/7
Fridge is stocked, TV dialed in to OTA channels, beer cold/mugs frosted.
A/C chilled for those HOT Days and needing a break from chores :B

I use the OFf-ROAD POPUP trailer BATTERY BANK all the time for all kinds of backup things here at my house...

One year we was without House power here for a week due to a hurricane coming close by and we was the block party location every evening... Watched HDTV and cooked on the grill. Was doing the same thing of running off the batteries and recharging the next morning with the generator for three hours. The only problem I had then was finding a working gas station close by in the county. No one had emergency power haha...

Planning on building up an outside BATTERY BANK for the house now using the same idea... My low key UPS unit...

My radio room and all its electronics never goes off grid... The rest of the house we have to plug-in at different places to keep the main thing going when the need arrives...

Great time to exercise my 2KW generator running three hours each morning re-charging my battery banks...

Got mine sitting here in case my 23yo house A/C goes out.

We too have our Home on Wheels parked at home with full hook up. The only glitch we have is that one slide cannot be fully extended but would still be able to use everything. We have used it for whatever we want including the extra fridge for parties and such. So congrats on the build, enjoy it and it will allow you to take your time and build the place you want without having to drive far to work! Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !

This past winter, we had another big storm come through. Lows in the 20s and an unbelievable amount of ice. Sure enough, power goes out and its going to be a long time before they can get the lines repaired.

Once I realized the power was out for good, we headed to the camper. Within minutes, the generator was running, the heat was on, and Captain America was playing in the DVD player.

Having a spare home is great. A few years ago our daughter's family had a home under construction and we let them live at our place for six months. We lived in our 5er parked in the driveway. Nice semi-fulltiming event for us.

Fully furnished ready to go.

Costs me $30 month and well worth it.


Course if power should go down..............then 4K gen is ready to go.


Olden days we would just have to endure.......open windows and hope for a breeze
