5er tires

How many years do you guys go on original equipment tires?

When you replace original tires, what brand, model number etc. do you recommend?

  • Ours came with the Goodyear G14 in 2010 and I put brand new Goodyear G14 on after the 5th season.

I maybe wrong and please excuse me if I am but I don't think any 5ers comes with 14” tires. That said most if not all manufacturers installs the bare minimum rated tires I guess they save a dime or two by doing so at the risk of people lives.

I buy used rv trailers over 10k lbs. Oem tires were long gone however my current trailer had new Marathons on it installed by the dealer. I sold the tires and wheels to a lawn service guy on CL.

I don't use ST tires so I bought 4 new 16" wheels and 4 LT E tires. Ran the first set for 55k+ miles and 7 years and have around 35k-40k miles on the second set.
I've done all my heavy trailers (rv and non rv) this way.
  • On my 2012, I should have gone 3 years. Had 2 blowouts the first trip of this year. 4 years was to long for the OE China-bombs. I replaced with Goodyear Marathons, also made in china..grrrr
