I see quite a few pickups with the louvered tailgates and the notch that lets the kingpin through. Do these improve gas mileage when you aren't towing?
Myth is that it will increase mileage. It =may=, while towing, by reducing turbulence, but it may not. I know that mine =really= helps reduce turbulence that can lift a pretty good-sized piece of firewood out of the bed. It's also real nice for hitching/unhitching. I've not towed enough to notice any mileage difference.
