Not only is it illegal in Florida to double tow, you are required to have brakes on trailers over 3000lbs, or if the trailer is 40% or more of the combined vehicle weight (brakes working on all wheels). You might get away with it and not get stopped at all, or you could get a ticket, go a few miles down the road and get another one. You could get into a crash and hurt someone, then you would definitely be in trouble. Its one thing to start out in a state that something is legal and wander into another state where it is not and claim ignorance. It is another thing living there and breaking the law.
