5th wheel hitch lift

I belong to three different trailering forums and don't remember where I saw a similar lift someone had built. I used the general idea of his and built this one. It fits into the hitch the same as the pin on the trailer. Lock it in place and use a cherry picker or overhead hoist to lift it and save your back. I just used what I had on hand
  • Not everyone has access to a hoist or cherry picker and any lifting equipment

Anyone with a 5th wheel already has a lfting devcice....the 5vr front landing gear

I pull the pins on hith bedrails...raise the front landing gear lifting the hitch up via king pin high enough to clear truck bed then drive out from underneath it.

Repeat in reverse and set hitch back down onto bedrails...

Hitch hangs from king pin w/o issue.

You must have one of them B&W “HeavyWeight” hitches.

You're next B&W hitch will likely be quite a bit lighter.

My new 20K B&W Companion for Ford puck system is 153#...The base is 78# and the head is 75#.. Thats about 1/2 of what my old Pullrite Superglide was at 300#

Not quite sure why my "NEXT" B&W will be lighter???

My current RVK3600 25k/6,500# pin weighs in at 229#. Base is 154# and head is 75#.

  • That Demco for $61 looks exactly like the one someone posted that they had made. I was lucky that the 3 pieces I used were in inventory. So time and welding were my cost
