Depending on the age and conditions the hitch is subjected to, it may be time to perform preventive maintenance.(Take apart, inspect for wear, clean, lube, reassemble) Our Curt Q24 has lubrication points and a specific grease is recommended. I am not sure if silicone spray lubricant will lubricate, protect, AND take the punishment a 5th hitch is subjected to.
