Easy to explain.
From the B&W webpage: Fully articulating head allows front to back and side to side pivoting.
From Curt: The defining component of this 25K 5th wheel hitch is its unique pivoting mechanism, a spherical axial bearing. This highly sophisticated technology offers free movement to allow the Q25 5th wheel head to tilt in virtually any direction.
So the Curt head allows the hitch plate to move in basically 360 degrees and not restrict it to just front to back and side to side like the B&W.
