5th wheel landing gear adapter

I want to purchase a 5th wheel landing gear handle or drill adapter. seems they have different brands

lippert
atwood
bull dog

are they all the same size. not sure what my 2001 cardinal would have. I do have the whole handle, but would like an adapter for my drill.
  • the socket is a great idea, but the landing gear is a slotted unit, I did think of using a long socket and cut the slot, just didn't know if it would weaken it to much.
this is pic of socket, it is to short. looks like I will buy the whole handle and cut it off

  • Why not get a socket that fits the same size as your handle and weld it onto a piece of steel rod. Should be quite a bit cheaper than the adapter/new handle cost.
  • thanks, that's what I thought too. found and adapter locally for 49.99
I can buy a full handle and cut it for 19.99.

Simple solution would be to find an other identical handle and simply cut it off. I know a couple guys who have done this...

I agree with Lyle, just find another handle like yours and cut it off for your drill.
