It seems we have become used to fifth wheels that grossly exceed their nameplate measurement, although mine measures what it is plus the extended length of the optional ladder on the back.
One of the offenders that really should not be allowed is Northern Lite. Their 10-2 camper, which has always measured 10 feet two inches from front of the box to the back now comes as a 10-2 EX. This is now a totally artificial length, as the EX stands for extended, and the true measurement is now 10 feet 11 inches.
It would be really nice if nameplate length meant what it measured, and it should be the law.
