5th Wheel or Tounge pull?

Why did you pick yours & what advantages do you see for one over the other?

I'm thinking the 5th wheel might be more stable being its weight is over the axle?

Might it be safer in the wind over a Tounge pull trailer?

My truck camper is just too small for us & I'm starting a trailer might be a good affordable option , compared to a motor home.

Not to mention I disconnect from the trailer & go sight seeing.
Vs flat towing like we do now if we planned to do a sight seeing trip.

  • We have had three travel trailers with each one being bigger and longer then the last.
I need the bed of the truck to carry all our biking, canoeing and back packing gear and bikes I have a cap on the bed roof and carry two sea kayaks and a canoe on It.
I could never do that with a 5th wheeler so it's a TT for us

  • I had a TT and a 5th wheel. I see you have a dually and honestly i don't think you will see much in the difference between a 5er and TT in wind with your truck. Now if you had a SW,SB yes without doubt you would notice. The height of the 5th wheel gets to be a pain. I have broken my skylight twice and knocked off vents multiple times with my current 5er. None of that happened with the shorter TT.

I could go on and on but what made me pick the 5er over another TT was the under storage. No comparison between the two.
