Even though many respectable manufacturers have shut their doors such as Citation, Hitch Hiker, Carriage, Alpenlite and Okanagon I believe there are manufacturers building trailers that are of better quality. For instance I would much rather have a new New Horizon as opposed to an old Alpenlite.
Why wouldn't you feel this way? I believe the story was about quality. More options and more problems, we see this in a high end resort. new fifths are very nice.

Can quality be measured in lbs. A new 35' Jayco is 8600 lbs. A new 35' Montana is 10250 lbs. Your 2001 Alpenlite is around 11,700. The dry weight of my 35' 08 Citation is 13k lbs. The dry weight of a new 35.5' DRV is 13800 and a new 36' New Horizons is 17500 lbs.
Weight!!! While “not” the only qualifier....it certainly plays into the equation!
