Yeah they are on the heavy side. I already have upgraded tires with load ratings of 3,640 per tire and tow bags are going on regardless of the trailer we go with to keep the truck from squatting.

I know there could be weight issues but that is not what my questions are about. I am more interested in finding a quality hauler that meets most of our wants. If a new truck is needed, so be it.

No experience with Momentum but looking at their specs, they are heavy. That's all I'm saying about it.

Yes he could be but he didn't indicate that so based on his sig I was just giving him my opinion at what floorplans/sizes he should be looking at compared to what his current truck can safely tow. He didn't ask about a specific floorplan to give opinions on. First time poster here and since the weight issue came up, I have a newbie question. I'm looking into 2006/8 35' TH with advertised 1500 empty pin. On paper it looks good but obviously it will vary depending on loading, empty/ full tanks, genset etc. My question to the dirt bike folks is.....If you load say.. 3 dirt bikes in the aft portion of the garage, how will that effect pin weight and CG? seems you could manipulate the pin weight to some extent based on loading.. yes? no?

This is right out of the towing guide but not here to argue.
2500 Std Bed 4WD 6.6L V-8 TD 13,000/14,000 (i)=3.73 gearing
It does list the 3500 SRW with a 17,500 cap. This is from a 2015 tow guide.
Even without that being considered your going to be over your GVWR for your truck with a Toy hauler like your wanting. Just my opinion.

The Vortec has a capacity of 14,000.....the Duramax has a capacity of 17,100.

I'd find it hard to believe you'll find a toy hauler in the size your looking for that you can tow with your truck and stay within the manuf ratings. Even the lighter ones at 30-34 ft are going to have a pin of 1800lbs or more which doesn't leave you much room for fuel, stuff or passengers. Looking up your truck I see it is only rated to tow 14K for a 5th wheel.
