5th wheel tailgate compatability

Pix for tailgate
Admins, if you feel like this fits in a different spot feel free to move it.
I have wanted to get a tailgate. Found one on craigslist, a Stromberg Carlson, that comes from a 2009 GMC. I am thinking it would fit my 2002 Silverado... Need some help here to verify.
Thanks for any help here.

This computer dunce figured out how to post the picture!!!
  • The best bet in my opinion is call Stromberg / Carlson to make sure. Good Luck and Happy Camping !!!
  • I use my stock tailgate works fine and when I unroll my tonneau cover I can secure everything.

Good luck, I got lucky and got Custom Flow for our 2001 Ram for $100 about six years ago retail about $450.

I dented mine and found one in a semi-local junkyard. It was in pristine condition, the same color and even had a sprayed on bed coating. So check your junkyards, they all seem to be connected via the net nowdays and can search for the right tailgate. Oh, the important thing about mine it was $500 less than half what a new one costs.
  • Took my tailgate off years ago and never cared to have one back on. I have a 2X4 cut to the correct length to stop **** from sliding out the back and thats all I will ever run again.
  • A 2009 GM tailgate will not fit a 2002, they did a major body change mid 07, which is why they had the 07 "classic" and the "07"
  • I have one I would give you off of my old 2001 chevy. I"m in Seattle though
  • Sounds like an excuse for a road trip, Seattle isn't far.
