The above (incorrectly referred to) is called "flipping the axle", and is a LAST resort - and *NOT* the solution of choice!

Not sure why you feel this is not the method of choice? Results in a four to six inch lift. Many new rigs come with the axles already under the springs. Based on measurements given would give OP about 6" to 7" bed to rail.
