I've been told its easier to park a 5th wheel than a travel trailer. is this true due to the turning radius or is it bunk?
The unit i'm looking at has a back up camera and is 8 feet longer than the old trailer and I know that if I can see whats happening and how close I am getting to whats back there I can make adjustments on the fly I don't like to rely on my wife because she waits until its at a critical point. A few months ago while backing in the trailer she turned down the walkie talkie and I got 1/4" from the fence. which was quite stressful.
Thanks
I don't mean to chuckle, but this topic always brings me back to the scene from "The Long Long Trailer"....which I made my wife watch. I don't have a trailer yet but plan on getting the 5th wheel soon. As for my experience with towing, I've backed bumper pull (boat - which doesn't really count because you can see whats behind), I had a gooseneck, and 20 years C-130s (can't see squat but the nose and wing tip + 2 pivot points). Never had any experience with any until the first time I hooked up. I think the key will be slow and practice.
