Clearance to the tailgate is not an issue for me, however B&W said to watch that.
I have the head of my hitch (B&W RVK3270) in the rear position. It can also be set to the front position by reversing the upright arms. I am set as low as it goes also. An older trailer may need an axle flip or subframe to raise it to match the truck. I believe that the Demco 6099 is the lowest profile picture frame available. It is basically standard bed rails with a little extra meat and the puck latches.

I did have to take a big flat file to one of the pin holes in my 6099 to get the B&W to drop in.
The only advantage I see to the Pullrite is that it breaks down into 4 pieces. Which which however could introduce a little slop.
