Other Benefits:
1.You will never drop your Fiver, its either on the ball or not.
2.Hookup is slower but gentler as you raise and lower the trailer onto/off the ball to hookup or disconnect without ramming or need for wheel chocks (in most cases).
3. If necessary you can hitch from 0 degrees (straight back) to any angle your truck can reach relative to the Fiver and uneven terrain doesn't matter.
It definitely is different strokes for different folks.
For #1 - yes, it's either on the ball or not, but you still have to lock the coupler into place. With my hitch (and no, I don't intend this to be a fan-boy post), I simply *cannot* close my handle unless I'm hitched properly.
For #2 - I'm always gentle. I see no need to slam into my hitch. Though, I still always use wheel chocks.
For #3 - same here, with a 4-way pivot head, I've hitched up in all sorts of angles.
And now- I've watched a couple of videos on how to hitch up with a gooseneck hitch (so clearly- I'm an expert :D). With a dually, it would be a huge hassle to have to climb into the truck bed each time to finish up my hitching up process (flipping the coupler latch, safety chains, breakaway cable).
Thanks for answering my question, though.
