I designed and built my own gooseneck adaptor. Yes, it appears that the gooseneck adaptor would stress the mounting attachment of the fifth wheel hitch....

yet there are no reports of the frames breaking. I suspect that the reason for frame breakage with fifth wheel hitches may be because when one pivots the standard four way fifth wheel hitch to the limits that it must then also work the truck suspension which could overload the frame components more so then the gooseneck adaptor does. I have not calculated it out and don't intend to because at this point in time I have no intention of switching.
