FWIW, I stopped by a large, local RV dealer last week and asked them about gooseneck adapters. They said that fully half their new 5th's go out the door with adapters. They had no problems with them, but hey, this is Montana and there are a lot of people pulling gooseneck stock and flatbed trailers in agricultural apps.
