6 volt batterys

Hello new to the site. I'm in need of some help. I bought a new 2017 keystone fuzion toy hauler last year and love it. I'm currently running 2 Trojan T105 Plus batteries and bought a 3rd just for a little more AH.

But when I installed the 3rd battery I stayed at 12 volts but the new battery was being cooked by the other 2. so I hooked the 3rd battery not sure what I did wrong.

Any help would be very grateful.

You'd have lots of difficulty charging the bank.

I'm thinking it would fry the single on the way to the doubles when charging..
Or maybe it would just mean the two in parallel would not be charged fully?
    Not sure!

  • Those batts are 6 volt... Two in series make 12 volts. Hooking up another 6 volt cannot be done..

You need to keep it two 6 volts, four 6 volts, 6 six volts etc etc.

And you must wire the second pair of 6 volt batts in parallel with the other pair.

ID - take a google at “the 12 volt side of life” for info on the care and feeding of rv batteries
  • You need an even number of 6V batts - they work in pairs.
