- OP here.. I do not have. TPMS Yet.... But my habits are to check everything before leaving... Thoroughly .... At each stop I use a digital thermometer to check all tires, wheel and brakes....ect..
- magic43ExplorerThat was a timely find.
I do not have TPMS on the fiver, but I always "thump" the tires at every gas stop. You can hear/tell the difference if a tire is loosing air. - MFLNomad III always check my tire pressure before a trip, but not while on a trip. Yes, I know, should check them every time, before they roll. I do not have a TPMS on my FW, but we all should.
I think many blow outs are caused from low pressure, due to a road hazard, but after the tire blows, you may never know.
OP, glad you caught yours,
Jerry - naturistNomadAlways smart to check everything's working as it should a couple days before a trip so you have at least a little time to make any needed repairs. Glad you found that nail before it cost you a tire (or more).
- CarlT100ExplorerChecking TP is a must!
- kakampersExplorerAnother reason for A TPMS...always turn ours on day before we leave....
- TomHaycraftExplorerI've been in a similar mode. In 2 weeks, we'll be in Colorado for 5 days, sandwiched by 2 full days of driving on each side. A shorter 3-day weekend right now, in part as a test following various mods and maintenance items being checked off my list!. In the maritime industry, it would be sea trials. For land-bound vehicles, road trials?!?!
