A little help needed.

My name is Bear and in the last few months I've inherited my Brothers' 2004(I believe it's a 2004) Fleetwood Wilderness Advantage trailer and I have a question that unfortunately he can't answer.

Where exactly on my trailer can I find the low point drains? I'm guessing they're exterior (and I know dump valve for the fresh water tank and sewage are but I've been told that's not what I'm looking fore.) I have no idea what i'm looking for and the owners manual isn't alot of help.

Appreciate any answers.
  • Mine come out under where the kitchen sink is located in the RV. No valves just screw in plugs. Isn't owning an RV full of interesting and fun activities?

Next try to find the crank handle access hole to crank the slide in/out manually :B
  • Welcome to the forum.

    I had a '96 Wilderness 27RK with a super slide 5th wheel trailer previously.
The drains on it hung down in front of the wheel/left side front axle.
I would say location depends on the different floorplans and probably year models.
  • Low point drains don't always have caps/valves on the portion of line that hangs down under RV. Sometimes the valves are inside in compartments or under benches or behind panels.

First thing is locating the lines hanging down under RV then trace back for valves if not on lines.

    Capped lines

    Lines w/valves

    Hidden valves inside compartment
  • Mine has two small (1/2"?) tubes hanging down a few inches underneath below where the water hookups are. But the valves for them are inside the baggage compartment door where the water hose connects (convenience center on mine).
  • Creeper time on pavement or concrete. :-) Usually there will be 2 capped lines; one with a blue cap and one with a red. This is for cold and hot water, respectively. They are used for winterizing your rig and are =supposed= to be the lowest points in the fresh water system. Helps to also use low pressure air to blow the lines out, too. Also, you're likely to have to pop the safety valve on the water heater to get it to drain properly.

  • IF it has them you will probably just have to crawl underneath and look for some "hoses" just hanging out from the bottom. Everyone I have seen has been near the perimeter and reachable from the side. Some trailers have more than 1 set... some have none.
  • Low piont drains will be two 1/2" water lines probably less than a foot in lenght with valves or threaded caps. Look behind the wheels. Sometimes there blocked from view.
