Sorry, I was concerned with being from out of state and driving thru Illinois. Illinois may have a special licensing procedure but for people driving thru, if you are legal in your state you should be OK driving through Illinios. I just called and talked to the Illinois State Police and they confirmed this.

Yep, for non commercial, you only have to have the license your home state requires. Those of us who live in states that can use regular drivers licenses, only need them. I do have a Class A HazMat, triples, tanker commercial license though Licensed to drive anything but Articulated Bus.
