First of all, hello. I am terrible with online searches so please forgive me if this info is readily available somewhere that I'm not aware of. I have been researching toy haulers for quite a while now and I think I have narrowed it down to two; The Forest River Stealth 2515 or the XLR Hyper Lite 24HFS. My number one concern is interior height in the "garage" area with the electric motorized bed raised. I will be hauling a Polaris RZR in the back. They sit about 5' 10" tall as they roll off the showroom floor. I'd love to have some wiggle room on the height for stuff like light bars, the roof, and possibly taller tires down the road. I have searched and searched for that information and haven't found anything. I also really like the layout of the Fun Finder XT245 and the fact that it appears very light weight, but it appears to be shorter than either the Hyper Lite or the Stealth. The Jayco Octane T26Y appears to be very tall in the back, but I'm just not sold on the floor plan.Is there any way to get that information? For what it's worth, I'm towing with a 2010 Toyota Tundra with every tow option and E load rated tires. I've even been tempted to look at the Stealth 2715, but it's heavier yet and I don't want to get to an uncomfortable point with towing it. I've been towing enclosed car trailers with various loads for a few years with this truck, and a couple hundred pounds of tongue weight can make a noticable difference.

Many toy haulers are not suitable for 1/2t trucks because of the large weight bias on the hitch (many are over 1000 lbs HW). You may find the only way you will be able to stay under rear axle rating is by not hauling water even with a weight distribution hitch. The lower weight capacity of the semi floating axle is your limitation. Once you step up to the 3/4t or larger class of trucks, most of the axles are full floating and designed for 9k lbs (even though they be lower rated due to the suspension or wheels).

That's why I'm staying with a smaller toy hauler. Both the Stealth and Hyper Lite I'm looking at are well within what I'll comfortably tow with my truck. I'm not one of those guys comfortable pulling a 33' trailer with a 1/2 ton. The one bit of information I can't seem to find anywhere for the time being is interior height under the rear bed. That bit of info may very well make my final decision for me.

It is a common problem with height, so don't feel singled out. I often see guys deflate tires, remove roll cages, strap down suspension or remove the rear loft bed to clear their rigs.

not really and answer to your question but........my son and i both have ww'sthey both have just over 6 ft under the rear bed when up. he has a rzr also and works for him.this seems to be a sort of generic measurement.yu are right to ask and check to make sure though.the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton ratings have all become so blurred, so much in the last few years, its hard to keep up with what will pull what.i think most of the ultra lights ect are built to be 1/2 towable. you very well might want to take a test tow before you buy. if at all possible. if not at least hook up and see how your pu looks. measure hitch sag and front fender hight be for and after.that and the gvw of the trailer should be posted some where in the trailer. you can compare to what the rating on your tundra is.

My Attitude has 72.5 inches of clearance under the two queen beds when raised. The new models have even more to accomadate the RZRs.

I have a 2010 Forest River "Shockwave" with no garage. I have a Polaris Rzr with a spare wheel on top and 14" wheels. I have about 3" clearance under the bed. Without the garage, we have a lot more living space.

I appreciate the concern, I really do. Out here on the east coast, the worst stuff I'll get into is foothills of the Appalachians. I've been there with enclosed car trailers in the neighborhood of 8000 pounds and been very comfortable. For one track event I was loaded to about 11,000 pounds and it was uncomfortable. For the top rung of today's 1/2 ton trucks, 6000-8000 pounds is a very reasonable load. Any time you add multiple tons of weight to ANY vehicle, the risk factor increases. The key is realizing that and not thinking that your 1/2 ton gasser is a big rig that can do anything.

I am very weight conscious on this hunt for an RV. This is why I wanted to know the interior height of the small Hyper Lite. There is no need to upgrade from my truck to tow the little one. It looks like my decision has been made. The RZR will fit with room to spare and I'll be around 7000 pounds loaded which is 1000lbs below my desired limit.

Might be ok with the 1/2 ton in NC, but I am 100% concerned if you come out to the Rockies that it's going to be trouble, for your safety, and ours. I would consider a truck upgrade. I see half tons on the side of Ashton Pass all the time, and on quite a few occasions they have caused others towing up to have accidents, because there is just not enough room. You might be alright in the flatlands though.

We had the 27' stealth that we towed with a 1/2T Chevy CC. 2011 RZR S with 2" lift and 14" x28" tires . Just fit under the bed with about an inch to spare. It was a nice trailer but after making a coupletrips to colorado and having repetitive engine problems with the chevy we traded the truck in for a power stroke and since we had a bigger truck sold the stealth for a fusion 5th wheel. But to answer your question . Fit fine in mine stock and was close with lift and bigger tires.

I'd recommend doing a search on rvtrader.com or rvt.com for whatever models you're interested in. Call every dealer that has one in stock and ask them to measure. Once you get the same measurement a few times you can reasonably assume the measurement is accurate.

I really want to avoid modifying my RZR to fit in a hauler. I posted this same question in the Forest River Foums and it sounds like it will fit in the back of the Hyper Lite 24HFS with about 8" to spare. If that's the case, I'm fairly certain that will be my choice. If I was willing to get a 3/4 ton truck, I'd go with a bigger Stealth, but the low tongue weight of the Hyper Lite has me leaning that way.

You could "chop" the cage on the RZR or swap it for an after market cage. Both of these options are a common practice. Jump over to rzrforums.net and search for the term "cage chop".
