AC temp in 5er compared to outside

I've heard that at best you should get an inside trailer temp of about 20 degrees less than outside. I live in Texas. It's 94 outside right now and about 78 in my 5er.
I have a 32 foot Montana with one 15,000 BTU A/C. BUT, I have the arctic package (upgraded insulation). It is a 2004 so the insulation package isn't as good as the newer models.

What do you guys think about what my results are (good/bad) and what are the top 2 or 3 things I can do to reduce indoor temps.

I've been hearing about using the aluminum bubble insulation stuff on windows I don't need to see out of. Any other suggestions?

EDIT: I'm also looking into tinting the windows. Anybody done this?...what brand, type, etc did you use?

You misheard. An AC drops (at best) about 20 degrees across its coils. When you turn it on in a 90 degree rv, the AC starts spewing out 70 degree air

But as the air starts to drop, now the air inside is a mix of 70 and 90 degree air; say 80, so the AC will now be putting out 60-65 degree air.

I have two acs in my 40' DP and can easily get it in the low 70s in full sun on a 100'degree day.

If that is the case, wouldn't you then continuously get lower and lower ac output temps until you hit your desired temp?
90 degree RV. A/c output 70 degrees. Later on, 80 degree RV, a/c output 60 degrees. later on 70 degree rv, a/c output 50 degrees. later on 60 degree rv....etc etc. But in reality, that doesn't happen.
    Why?

Only 1 A/C (even 15K) you are going pretty dang good.

Got any roof vents........stuff a accent pillow in them to block the sunlight

Our rear window had a large day/night shade that took 2 to raise/lower plus recliners were in the way.
Replaced it with 4 black out curtain panels.......closed they dropped temp in recliner area significantly.

Extend awning as much as possible....helps shade side of rv

    Clean return air filter routinely
    Keep the EVAP Coil CLEAN

The EVAP coil? What is it, where is it and how do I clean it? lmao

  • Probably about as good as you can get. I would suggest a second AC unit.
