Anyway, I now have the Reese Select 20K with the wrap around jaw, so I really just quit worrying about it.
I go to manual mode, raise/lower the trailer to hitch, then try to pull out. if the truck doesn't stay attached.. oops.. you are 'supposed' to still have the wheels blocked. I also look at the jaws before closing the tailgate. Its pretty obvious if they aren't around the pin. (B&W Patriot hitch)
