adding second shore power receptacle

Hi,

I have a Keystone Cougar 293SAB. The shore power cord is at the back of the trailer. When I travel with a generator, it sits in the back of the F350 close to the cab. Each time I want to use the generator, I run the power cord from the back of the trailer all the way to the truck bed. It would be so much easier if I could just plug into the front of the trailer for just this purpose.

So my question is, has anyone installed a second shore power receptacle or is there a better solution.

Thanks.
  • you would need a transfer switch so when one is plugged in the other does not become live and dangerious.

or you could rewire and relocate it completely
  • I installed a 30 amp twist lock receptacle with cover in the front of my trailer. I run the cord to the genny in back of the truck anchored by ties to the jack post. Works good and I have a cool camper when I get to the site. Also use it to stop for a break on the trip and eat lunch in AC
