When using ANY adhesive on flooring, you need a clean, dry surface to apply it to AND the adhesive must be spread EVENLY over the ENTIRE floor. If not you will get air pockets and the new floor will not sit evenly.
If this is in your "garage", you might be better just screwing it down. Use a "washer head" self tapping screw, but you might want to pay extra for stainless steel ones or something with a good moisture resistant coating. Standard screws will rust. Space them evenly along the edge about 12" and use an battery operated impact driver. Neat spacing will make it look like factory !
