Adjusting springs to lower holes?

Mine has 3 holes in the brackets...I would think, if you were going to RAISE the 5er up, you would use hole higher up on the bracket, that would raise the 5er, if you use lower holes, it will lower the unit, wouldn't it?

I do think I need to go to the lower hole to raise. I am going to add a pic, if I can. I may not have worded properly, as most of you knowledgeable people are saying that this is a major job. I was hoping to put a scissor jack between the frame and spring, until the eye of spring lines up with the bottom hole.
