Congratulations! Sounds like you covered most of the bases, as far as KZ denying a repair- unless you heard it from KZ, better than even odds the dealer is lying. They don't want to order a trim part and not have you come back for installation (you wont believe how many customers never follow up and return). Full disclosure- the DW and I took delivery of an '18 KZ Durango in June, aside from a minor plumbing leak and a few minor trim issues we are trouble free.
