Hello all--I am considering A 2008 Jayco 31 BHDS. It is a Superlite 5er. It has a UVW of 8345#, dry hitch of 1385#, and GVWR of 10,700#.I will be towing my truck in sig. It has a GVWR of 9200# weighs about 6500#, plus fuel and 4 passengers puts it about 7500#. I have load range E tires. From what I've learned here, it appears I will meet the weight specs for safely and legally towing. We are a family of 4 (DS15, DS 10), with occasional grandma going along. We use primarily in state parks, beaches, and river (CA, NV, AZ).Can any of you provide input on the quality and floor plan of this unit? Is it fairly priced? It has 2 slides, one is a rear bedroom with J cube futon bed. This slide is on awning side. The bunks on my 325BHS Eagle seem huge.. so much larger than our last camper with bunks..

I think they are the 'optional' bunks though.. Bottom bunk is 54 x 72 and Top bunk is 54 x 74

I haven't slept on the couch but my adult kids have and it seems to be uncomfortable. The bunks are fine for kids, but a little small for adults especially if you are six feet or taller.

Thanks RamTX. I will check those if I move forward with this unit. Still looking and getting frustrated. I can't decide between a BH or real living room. The bunks are typically small in the units that are 5+ years old. Just not sure what it would be like to sleep on a jackknife or dinette. For the kids, maybe OK, but I have one young son who may sleep with DW in queen bed and I may have to sleep on dinette or couch myself. My second son is 5-10 and I am 6'.

I have this trailer. Just a little different arrangement inside. Here's some things to check for as I have experienced with this trailer:

Check for cracks in frame above axles.
Check for cracks in covers for skylights and vents (especially if they are discolored.)
Check steps to make sure that they don't sag to one side are another indicating a possible weld failure.

Hope this helps. I have experienced these with this particular trailer.

trans fluid changed and put in a pan from a 4wd model as it holds about a quart more but more importantly, has a drain plug. Between trans pan and converter, changes are not too difficult and 90% of fluid is removed.

They won't go $14K, as it we have private parties getting $15K for them. Basically, the sales price is $16K plus tax and lic is about 10%.

I'll probably keep looking.

Remember to change the oil and trans fluid sooner as you are towing a load now. I agree with TXiceman.
