I think I can shed light on this subject.
Our DRV has a pin weight of 4,500# it makes the truck level. The truck handles the pin weight and 18K RV with no problems.
I did change the POS shocks to Bilstien's blue and yellow. They are the proper shock for this application. I also added PacBrake bags they are very high quality and also installed air horns with on board air control for the bags in my console.
I run 5psi solo and when RV is hooked up the pressure goes to about 30psi. I tow at that pressure. The truck did not need bags but at that pressure it helps control the springs.
The ride along Hwy 10West of Palm Springs is much improved.
So op you really DON'T NEED bags with your load. Tow with it and see how you like the ride.
Then if not happy add the Bilstien's then if not happy add the bags.
