I, too, have a receptacle just a few inches from the vent in the ceiling. I bought the option.
I wouldn't let that stop me if a 2nd unit is important to you. An extension cord stretched across the ceiling to some logical point above an outlet on the wall isn't going to be that big a deal, or maybe plastic conduit or some such.
